We are committed to protecting your privacy and this page contains important information about how we collect, and use, the personal information you provide us with. We are the controller of the information that we obtain from and about you. We understand and respect the importance of your privacy and we are committed to the fair and transparent processing and safeguarding of your personal information. We are also legally obliged to use your information in line with current legislation covering the protection of personal information, including the Data Protection Act 1998.
This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

Personal information we collect -
When you make an enquiry, book from our website, subscribe to our newsletter, take part in surveys or customer feedback, or enter any of our promotions and competitions, we collect personal information from you which may include: your name, address, email address, contact telephone number(s), vehicle registration number, the dates of your booking, the date the booking was made, and your Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter usernames.
We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods or services). In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us, but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.
We do not store credit or debit card information. When paying for a booking you will be directed to our third-party payment processor, Sagepay. Whilst it may feel like we are collecting this information, it is actually being collected by Sagepay directly in order to take authorised payments for your booking and you should refer to their privacy policy for details about how it will be used by them. We do not see or store your debit or credit card information.
We only use your information for the purposes of making and recording your booking, for you physically accessing Chester Lakes for the duration of the booking, entering you into the promotion you have participated in, for statistical purposes to improve our service and, if you have subscribed, to email you our newsletter and any offers we believe that you might be interested in. The information is also used to make it easier to book again with Chester Lakes in the future.
Monitoring and recording
We use CCTV recording equipment in and around our premises to assist in the smooth operation of the site, to improve the quality of our service and to prevent and detect criminal activities.
Sharing your information
If you have subscribed to receive our newsletters, we will share your name and email address with our transmission company, Mailchimp, to deliver the email to your inbox.
We will not sell, distribute, or disclose information about you as an individual or your personal usage of our site.
We may have to share your information with regulatory authorities, to prevent or detect crime (including fraud), to recover any monies owed to us, or if we are required or permitted to do this by law (for example, if we have a request from the police).
Marketing

Your booking data is processed and stored on secure servers by Anytime Booking on behalf of Chester Lakes Limited.
Web site data is processed and stored under encryption by Gloversure Limited.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask for access and to receive a copy of your personal information. If you would like to receive a copy, or if you would like further information on, or wish to complain about, the way that we use your personal information, please write to the Data Manager at Chester Lakes, Bretton House, Bell Meadow Business Park, Pulford, Chester, CH4 9EP giving your name and address.
Please note that when these rights are exercised, we will conduct identification checks in order to ensure your privacy is safeguarded. You will need to contact us by email or post, to exercise these rights. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within 1 month of the request being made. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
If any of your details are incorrect, you wish to restrict, or stop us using your information let us know and we will amend, or delete, your information accordingly, and confirm to you that this has been done.
