Chester Lakes

Welcome to Chester Lakes

On approaching Balderton and turning left onto Church Road for Dodleston the entrance to Chester Lakes is sited on the left approximately 80 metres past the junction.

It is very apparent from the outset that this is the culmination of six years work installing nearly a mile of hard roads and landscaped with avenues of oak trees and daffodils. To be within a mile of the A55 / A483 junction and only 3 miles outside Chester City centre it is incredible how rural the Chester Lakes complex is.

On arriving at the 150 car parking area the scale and quality of the development is plain to see. For the match angler the sequence of pools running east are purpose made and have good wide tracks leading to all the pegs making it the ideal location for those of us not so good on our feet and not wanting to get muddy in the winter!

The three main lakes Eccleston, Aldford, and Pulford have between 22 and 26 pegs per pool and are stocked with 36,000 fish ranging upto 12lb carp and included in the silver fish are trench, rudd and bream.

The lakes café run by Emma (chesterlakescatering.co.uk telephone 07842527426) is open every day from 7am to 7pm and provides a full range of beverages and fantastic food throughout the day. The “All Day Breakfast” is a joy to behold and will set you up for the day!

The complex of lakes open at the moment are impressive enough but the autumn expansion will be fantastic for the specimen enthusiast. This will include the purpose built Dodleston Lake covering 4 acres being stocked with large double figure specimen carp and only having 14 pegs. The Chester Lakes fisheries manager Dave Artell is an extremely accomplished specimen / match angler himself and can be contacted on 0789 292 4369.

To surmise the scope to have fun with all the family at Chester Lakes is huge, the café with picnic benches throughout the manicured lakeside banks and the shear quality of the venue will excite even the most seasoned angler and those just wanting to pop in for lunch or a drink.

The Chester Lakes team are looking forward to your visit and catering for your every need.
